Established by third generation local farmer Martin Blackwell in 1995 as Direct Meats, in 2024 we changed our company name to Blackwell & Co. to better represent the family business.
Based in the Colne Valley and surrounded by beautiful countryside, we work with some of the best farm producers, supplying delicious quality meat products to a huge selection of clients, from award winning independent chefs and restaurants to large food and retail businesses in the UK and worldwide.
DRY AGEING & CURING
We have a superb reputation across the globe for our mouth-watering dry aged beef, with notably famous chefs using our unbeatable dry aged range.
Our specialist bespoke Italian designed curing rooms produce a wide range of delicious industry leading cured products. In partnership with Dingley Dell Pork on the East Suffolk coast we have also created an exceptional, artisan range of fermented sausages, salami and charcuterie.
BUTCHERY & SELECTION
Our talented team of butchers take every chop, cut and slice with exceptional precision and care. Their experience and expertise means we can offer customers a genuinely artisan product, selected for its breed, quality and taste.
From joints to steaks, chops to cutlets, t-bones to tenderloins each quality cut is carved to perfection, every time.
PROVENANCE & SUSTAINABILITY
Provenance, sustainability and traceability are central to our ethos. All of our farmers and suppliers adhere to the highest welfare standards and engage in a wide variety of on-farm sustainability projects.
Each year, in partnership with Dingley Dell Pork, we feed 1 million bumblebees, helping to plant hundreds of thousands of grass and wildflower seeds, supporting and enhancing wildlife diversity across the farm.

Our founder and managing director, Martin Blackwell, had the incredible honor of meeting King Charles to receive the prestigious Kings Award for Enterprise International Trade 2024!
